You can stare into the future, but please don't stare into the sun! Here we actually stare into the past's version of the future since this view hasn't been available since about 1994.

With the demolition of the Orange Dome last week I felt I needed to create it little something in its memory.
The completed picture.
The dome all by itself.
The real dome (pre-demolition, obviously).

Very happy with the way this one turned out. When small it almost still looks like a photo but once enlarged the differences are clear. I'd thought about doing some weird color stuff with this the way I did with the Big Thunder picture from a few days ago, but I thought it might bring back bad memories of that Pepto Bismol castle from the 25th Anniversary.

Two posters today for Japan. The first one I like but couldn't quite get the colors to come out the way I wanted. Perhaps the pink is more interesting than the red would have been anyway. The second one came out just as intended.

This was by far the hardest the travel posters to do and honestly I'm not happy with it. I didn't have any photos of the pavillion to work with that were particularly interesting and that is at least partially because of all the World Showcase pavillions, this is the most boring architecturally.

A short break from the travel posters. Today we skip over to the Magic Kingdom for a little something I put together. I love the way this one turned out. I need to recreate it on a larger scale.

Here is the first of a new series of EPCOT travel posters I'm working on. I plan to create at least one for each of the countries represented in World Showcase. All will be based on photos I've taken. Today's poster is for sunny Mexico.

Last month Nick and I took a trip to Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring. I hadn't been there since I was a kid and had been wanting to visit again since I moved back to Florida. It was pretty easy to convince Nick to go since there was a chance of seeing alligators. We did eventually see one along with some wild pigs, and a baby racoon.
Our first animal encounter would be a group of small wild pigs. Later we would see some much larger ones but I was unable to get a picture of them.
There was another path where one could bypass these stepping stones across the swamp but that just wouldn't have been any fun.
Next we encountered this quite large gator who was trying to soak up a little sun. He was some distance from us and obscured by plant life. We almost missed him.
Our last animal sighting of the day. This was back near the gator and we were trying to see if we could get a different perspective. We had ventured up near the water off the beaten path when we caught this little guy climbing on a tree. We also caught another sighting of the gator but the view wasn't good enough for a picture.
