Barbie Girl

These pictures were taken in 1993.  The model is my friend Barbara.  I scanned these about ten years ago and probably should have rescanned them at a higher resolution and with better quality but here they are in all of their pre-digital glory (except that I did convert them to black & white).

Music Video Titles

From the summer of 1990 through the summer of 1993 some friends and myself essentially had our own video production group.  We spent our time creating music videos, tv shows and other things of that kind.  We made about 120 music videos.  These are a few of the titles I created for them.

The Monkey's Uncle

I like it when different passions of mine cross over into each other.  In 1993 amid a particularly busy time making music videos, we decided to make a video for Annette Funicello's song "The Monkey's Uncle" from the film of the same name.  Since I was the only person familiar with the song I was elected to be Annette.  To maintain the cross dressing theme, friends Tracie and Barbie lip synced the backing vocals by the Beach Boys.  In 2009 I created a graphic which would be like a 45RPM record cover.

The monkey graphic was inspired by the Barrel of Monkeys toy.

A screenshot of me as Annette.

Here are a couple of drawings I did of friends, circa 1993.

Maleficent

I've got two versions of this which I drew back in 1993.  Prior to these drawings I had traced a lot of Disney characters but only drawn a few and none of those were as difficult as this one so I was very happy at the time I completed this.  The first is just pencil and the second is color done with Prismacolor pencils.

Perhaps I should have done the flames on this version as well.
